Meet the Teacher
Jessica McGrath is from Montreal, Quebec. She started dancing with the Bernadette Short School of Irish Dance in Montreal at the age of 6, along with many other forms of dance including classical ballet. She continued to dance recreationally and competitively until moving to Ontario to work with her father in the family business. She has now returned to dance competitively in order to help achieve her teaching certificate, T.C.R.G. (Teastas Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha), so she may offer competitive dancing to her own school.
Our vision is to cultivate a love for Irish dance and culture. Our goal is to have the ability to offer both recreational and competitive classes at affordable rates, big thanks in part of the sponsorship of Kingston’s Harp of Tara as well as Brockville's Irish Cultural Society.
With a growing interest in Irish dance and culture in Kingston, Jessica McGrath, with the help of Harp of Tara, began offering classes from the very basics to preparation for competitive dancing. The school has since taken off and expanded to Brockville working along with the Brockville Irish Cultural Society. We participate in numerous community events throughout the year and promote the Irish culture so it continues to thrive. Everyone, regardless of age or experience are welcome.
